About the Studio

Ellie Yun is the principal and founder of San Francisco-based Studio Yun. With experience in interior design, art selection, and law, Ellie brings a multi-faceted perspective to a broad range of projects from California to New York. She works in interior design because there is nothing that she loves more than creating soulful, layered interiors that tell each client's personal story – spaces that are sophisticated but not too fussy. Ellie believes that acting as a steward for her clients’ finances is just as important as creating inspiring, functional interiors.

Ellie has taken interior design courses at Parsons School of Design in addition to being self-taught. She is currently studying neuroaesthetics.

With over a decade of experience as a finance and tech lawyer, Ellie brings a unique set of skills to design projects. She understands her clients’ busy lives and the need for the creative experience to be rooted in practical, actionable processes.

Ellie graduated at the top of her class with a B.A. in Art History and Middle Eastern Studies from Cornell University, where she directed a campus art gallery and worked with a Washington, D.C.-based curator and art dealer. As a student at New York University School of Law, she focused on art law and worked with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
